Tips for managing stress of the holiday season: Friday Flashback

I’ve been studying fear, stress, and anxiety for about 2 decades. And of course I experience plenty of my own stress! Over the years I’ve gotten opportunities to reflect on stress during the holiday season. Here’s a few of my favorite tips:

  1. Focus on gratitude. This link will take you to a page with my HuffPost article and tv appearance discussing this topic… with a few action items for you to think about.

  2. Prepare ahead for emotionally challenging situations. This link will take you to a page with another tv appearance and some actionable ideas for doing this.

  3. Watch your wallet. Financial strain can cause a lot of stress during the holiday season. This link will take you to a CNN business article I wrote.

I’ve written lots more about holiday stress, and had a number of appearances in multiple media outlets. Search “holiday” in my blog for more links and reach out if you’d like to discuss ways that i can help you manage your seasonal stress using the tools of neuroscience.
